Commitment to Net Zero

Simetria Limited commits to achieving Net Zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2050 at the latest. The company aims to reduce emissions at source across its operations and relevant supply chain. Any earlier target, including 2045, will be adopted only following documented director approval. This commitment and plan are subject to the formal approval recorded in the Declaration section below.

Organisational and Reporting Boundary

Simetria Limited is a UK business providing design, procurement, European-manufactured products, kitchen supply, logistics coordination and installation services. Four personnel work from home on a five-day week. The company has no operational head office or company-controlled office premises; its registered office is maintained at its accountant’s address. It does not directly purchase gas or electricity for any premises, own or operate vehicles, or reimburse petrol/diesel car mileage. Business travel is principally by London Underground, rail and electric buses.

European manufacturing is undertaken by independent partner factories. Freight is carried out by independent haulage providers, including a standard 13.6 m articulated trailer purchased by the haulier in 2025. The company arranges waste removal through licensed waste carriers. Supplier-controlled manufacturing and vehicles are not reported as Simetria’s Scope 1 emissions.

Baseline Emissions Footprint

This is the company’s first consolidated carbon inventory. The 2025 baseline is also the latest completed reporting year. Numerical estimates below use disclosed working assumptions; they are not independently verified and require final factor, activity and boundary checks.

Calculation Basis and Activity Evidence

Upstream freight

During 2025, Simetria arranged 22 deliveries using third-party articulated HGVs from Lithuania to the UK. The calculation applies representative one-way route distances of 2,050 km for London (80% of deliveries), 2,150 km for other South East destinations (10%) and 2,450 km for the Midlands and North (10%). This produces a weighted average of 2,100 km per delivery. Applying a provisional vehicle-distance factor of 0.90 kgCO₂e/km gives estimated freight emissions of 41.58 tCO₂e. The calculation excludes unallocated return journeys. The factor is a working assumption, not a verified 2025 UK Government factor.

Waste

Simetria arranged the removal of approximately 25 eight-cubic-yard skips of mixed construction waste through licensed waste carriers during 2025. For this estimate, each skip is assigned a provisional average weight of 1.5 tonnes, equivalent to 37.5 tonnes of waste. Applying an assumed treatment factor of 0.10 tCO₂e per tonne gives estimated emissions of 3.75 tCO₂e. The weight and treatment factor are documented assumptions; actual tonnage and recycling/disposal proportions have not yet been substantiated by contractor records.

Business travel

Business travel during 2025 comprised approximately 120 return journeys across four personnel, averaging three miles each way, principally by London Underground, train and electric bus. The estimated total distance is 720 miles (1,159 passenger-kilometres). A provisional blended factor of 0.060 kgCO₂e per passenger-kilometre gives estimated emissions of 0.07 tCO₂e. The factor represents a documented proxy because a mode-by-mode journey breakdown is unavailable; it has not been verified against the published 2025 mode-specific factors.

Employee commuting and homeworking

Four personnel worked from home on a five-day week during 2025, and no regular commute to a company workplace was identified. Employee commuting emissions are therefore reported as 0.00 tCO₂e. For supplementary disclosure, an assumption of 46 working weeks gives approximately 920 homeworking person-days. Homeworking energy emissions are not included in the five mandatory Scope 3 categories reported in the table.

Downstream transportation

No separate customer-paid onward distribution has been identified in the information provided for this assessment. Accordingly, downstream transportation is provisionally recorded as 0.00 tCO₂e, avoiding double counting of the 22 inbound freight deliveries. This treatment remains subject to confirmation that no other relevant downstream deliveries occurred during 2025.

Additional supply-chain impacts

The reported Scope 3 subtotal covers the five categories specified for the Carbon Reduction Plan. Emissions associated with purchased materials and outsourced manufacturing are outside that minimum reporting subset and are not represented in the reported total. Simetria recognises these as additional value-chain impacts and addresses them through supplier engagement and product-efficiency measures.

Current Emissions Reporting

Reporting year: 2025 (also the initial baseline). On the disclosed provisional working assumptions, Scope 1 = 0.00 tCO₂e; Scope 2 = 0.00 tCO₂e; five-category Scope 3 subtotal = 45.40 tCO₂e; combined gross total = 45.40 tCO₂e. These are not final assured figures. A verified 2026 annual reporting year is not yet available.

Reduction Targets and Measures

Proposed interim target for director approval: reduce emissions intensity per kitchen supplied or installed by 10% by 2030 against the 2025 baseline, while separately monitoring gross absolute emissions (working 2025 baseline: 45.40 tCO₂e). The intensity denominator requires validation. Net Zero by 2050 at the latest remains the organisational commitment, subject to formal approval.

Product durability and waste prevention

Use durable, repairable kitchen components, accurate manufacturing schedules, quality control and appropriate protective packaging to minimise damage, replacement and waste.

Efficient freight

Consolidate full loads, optimise delivery schedules and destination grouping, reduce repeat journeys, and request carrier mileage, vehicle and fuel information.

Materials and manufacturing

Engage European manufacturers on energy, material efficiency, certified sourcing where substantiated, and packaging reduction.

Site waste

Use licensed waste carriers, segregate where practicable, retain waste transfer documentation and seek actual tonnage and recycling/treatment data.

Low-carbon travel and remote work

Maintain remote working and public transport for business journeys, reducing avoidable travel and meetings.

Environmental restoration and carbon-related projects supported through Ecologi, including the previously recorded Lithuania carbon-farming contribution of 1 tCO₂e removed and forest/agroforestry projects, are reported separately. Such contributions are not deducted from the gross emissions inventory and do not substantiate a carbon-neutral claim.

2025 numerical calculations

  • Upstream HGV freight: 22 × [80% × 2,050 + 10% × 2,150 + 10% × 2,450] km × 0.90 kgCO₂e/km ÷ 1,000 = 41.58 tCO₂e.

  • Waste treatment: 25 skips × 1.5 assumed tonnes/skip × 0.10 assumed tCO₂e/tonne = 3.75 tCO₂e.

  • Business travel: 120 returns × 6 miles × 1.609344 km/mile × 0.060 kgCO₂e/passenger-km ÷ 1,000 = 0.07 tCO₂e.

  • Five-category Scope 3 subtotal = 45.40 tCO₂e. Scope 1 + Scope 2 = 0.00 tCO₂e provisionally; total = 45.40 tCO₂e.
