MAJOR PBSA STUDIO CONVERSION WORKS
Simetria converted four former resident lounges into complete new student studio apartments — delivering construction works, new walls and layouts, bathroom pods, kitchens, M&E, interiors, new certified fire door sets and passive fire compartmentation entirely through our in-house team
A major £140k conversion project transforming four existing resident lounges within a York PBSA development into four new self-contained studio apartments. This was a complete change and reconstruction of the existing spaces rather than a conventional refurbishment, with Simetria delivering the works entirely through its in-house team.
The programme included new internal walls and layouts, service alterations and connections, bathroom pods, fitted kitchens, flooring, lighting and electrical works, furniture and furnishings, together with the installation of new certified fire door sets and associated passive fire compartmentation. Each former communal space was taken from its existing configuration through construction, fit-out and fire-safety works to a fully completed new student studio ready for occupation.
What we delivered
FOUR NEW STUDIOS CREATED FROM EXISTING LOUNGES

Complete conversion and reconstruction of four former resident lounge spaces into new self-contained student apartments, including strip-out, new walls and layouts, construction works and the integration of all services required for the new accommodation.
BATHROOM PODS, KITCHENS & COMPLETE INTERIORS

Installation and connection of new bathroom pods and fitted kitchens, together with flooring, lighting, electrical works, furniture and furnishings to create four fully finished and equipped student studios.
NEW CERTIFIED FIRE DOOR SETS & FIRE COMPARTMENTATION

New certified fire door sets were installed as part of the converted layouts, together with associated passive fire compartmentation and fire-stopping works, integrating fire safety and compliance into the construction of each new studio.
